WCI student runs away with 5,000-metre title

WATERLOO — Nicholash Bedi of WCI was a runaway winner on Friday at the Waterloo County cross-country championships.

Competing in the midget boys 5,000-metre race, he finished in a time of 17 minutes, 4.2 seconds to finish more than 80 seconds ahead of Alex Colenutt of Cameron Heights. Luke Thompson of Bluevale was third.
